Hajj Schedule

The pilgrims in our group must always attire themselves in ihram either before leaving home, at Heathrow airport, or on board the aircraft.

When the group arrive at Makkah, they will perform Umrah prior to the Hajj. Group members may remove their ihram after performing Umrah (Hajj al-Tamatu').

Approximately £60-70 will be collected from each member of the party for the sacrifice in Mina during the group's stay in Makkah. The group representative will then be requested to pay the money to the Al-Rajhi bank in Makkah and a receipt will be issued by the bank. The bank then undertakes the responsibility of fulfilling the sacrificial requirement on behalf of each individual. Alternatively, an individual may go to the nearest abattoir in person to arrange for the sacrifice to be carried out

On this day the group will attire themselves in ihram in preparation for the Hajj at 9.00 p.m. The journey to Mina will be made by coach sometime between 9.00 pm to 4.00 am.

On this day the group will spend the day at Mina, and perform all five prayers there. After praying ‘Isha, the group will travel to Arafat by coach.

In congregation at Arafat, Salat al-Zuhr and al-'Asr will be prayed (jam' al-taqdim, before the time for salat al-'Asr has arrived). In fulfilling the conditions for hajj, staying at any part of Arafat is sufficient. It is recommended that members of the group should remain within the vicinity of their tent, engage in prayer and keep out of the sun.

The pilgrims will leave Arafat after sunset, and proceed to Muzdalifah. Salat al-Maghrib and 'Isha' will be prayed (jam' al-ta'khir, after the time for salat al-'Isha') in Muzdalifah. The Pilgrims in the group will each collect forty-nine stones to throw at the Jamarat (pillars) upon return to Mina.

It is possible that some members of the group may be advised to walk from Arafat to Mina due to the pressure of numbers on the coach transportation service.

In the morning of this day the group will return to Mina and each member of the group will throw seven stones at Jamrat al-Aqaba. Pilgrims may shave or cut their hair and make their own arrangements to visit Makkah to perform the tawaf al-ifadah, providing they return to Mina before sunset.

On this day the group members will stone Jamrat al-Sughra, Jamrat al-Wusta and Jamrat al-Aqaba in turns, each with seven stones. The group will carry out the stoning early in the morning, before fajr, to avoid the crowds and the intense heat of the day.

The pilgrims who haven’t yet performed Tawaf al-Ifadah may feel free to do so upon returning to Makkah on 12th of Dhu'I-Hijjah in completing the obligations of hajj. The Tawaf al-Ifadah may also be performed at any time up to the end of the month of Dhu'I-Hijjah. After the performance of Tawaf al-lfadah the Ihram may be removed.

Visiting al-Madinah, although sunnah does not form a part of the Hajj rituals. This means that pilgrims are not obliged to spend a specific number of days in Madinah. Pilgrims on the full hajj package can expect to spend about one week in Makkah generally after performing the Hajj before travelling to Madinah, where they will spend up to three days before travelling home via Jeddah. Pilgrims on the hajj express package usually spend up to two days in Makkah before travelling to Madinah, where they will typically spend one or two days before going home.
